NBC styleframes.

Last year we had another opportunity to take a fresh look at NBC’s on-air look. This new effort revolved around the idea of combining clean, systemized typography with iconography from the various shows. These played alongside an evolution of visual styles: movie poster style art, miniature iconographic worlds alongside talent, a website element which featured miniature worlds, and finally, a style which incorporated the perennial NBC chime as a hero element, both aurally and visually.











Ultimately we were hired as consultants for the rebrand, while the majority of the work was done in house at NBC. We were really happy with where our styleframes and initial animations were headed in terms of the typography, set design, talent direction, and overall brand direction. It would have been really cool to see them all the way through, but NBC Magic did a great job of applying and evolving the look throughout the current season.
